Tom has been with Group 4 since 2005 and is a founding member of the International Facility Management Association (IFMA) in the Tulsa Chapter.
In 1973 after graduating from Southern Methodist University, Tom began his career with Neiman Marcus as an assistant buyer in Dallas and later a manager of the men’s division in Houston until 1980. In 1981 he accepted a position with Scott Rice Company in Tulsa as their Architectural and Design Marketing Manager, responsible for promoting products to be specified by the A&D Market. Tom was then promoted to Furniture Sales Manager; he managed a sales department of fifteen salespeople in the Tulsa market, lead the sales department to a record of $21,700,000 for the 1990 fiscal year and their annual sales volume averaged $12,500,000.
Tom then became the Vice President and Market Manager of the dealership where he was responsible for all facilities, business planning, budget development, personnel, sales, marketing, operations, and administration. In 1998 he left Scott Rice to join Mid South Interiors, a Herman Miller dealer in Tulsa, as their Vice President of Sales. He helped develop the sales department as well as created the sales support structure for the dealership. In 2000 Tom became a Manufacturer’s Representative for Office Furniture and related products, his territories included Oklahoma and Arkansas. He was recognized for Highest Sales Growth, West Region, 2003 (Representing an ergonomic product manufacturer).
In May of 2005, Tom joined Group 4 as their Oklahoma and Arkansas representative and have grown the sales for this region by 200%. He is a founding member of IFMA in the Tulsa chapter and has served as their secretary, Membership Chairman, Fundraising Chairman, Events Chairman, and Sponsorship Chairman.
