Rick Bennett
In October 1973 Rick entered the US Navy, he served four years of active duty from 1973 to 1977 and two years reserve duty until 1979. He achieved the rank of Aerographers Mate second class petty officer and is a Vietnam Era Veteran.
After being honorably discharged from the Navy, Rick returned home to Houston, Texas where he lived and worked as an electrician until 1982. In February of 1980, Rick married Jan Cheatwood and shortly thereafter moved to Ardmore, Oklahoma to join his father-in-law in the oil business.
A major downturn impacted the oil business in the mid-’80s which forced Rick to look for employment elsewhere. He came to Dallas looking for a new start for him and his family. Rick began his career in the contract furniture industry with Furniture Marketing Group in March of 1985. A brief history follows
1985 – 1987 Installation Coordinator and Project Manager with Furniture Marketing Group
1987 – 1996 Project Manager and Sales Representative with Knoll (Westinghouse, Reff & Shaw Walker)
1996 – 2000 Account Representative with Bauhaus Interiors Group
2000 – 2001 Market Manager with Inscape, Inc
2001 – 2012 Operations Manager and Senior Sales Professional with Bauhaus Interiors
2013 – Present Group 4 Sales Associate
Having worked with consumers, architects, designers, general contractors, manufacturer’s, Rick’s 25+ years of experience in sales and account management brings a wealth of knowledge to Group 4. His attention to detail, customer care, and dealer experience are of tremendous value and support to our manufacturers and dealer partners.
When not working at Group 4, you’ll find Rick riding his Harley, listening to blues music (live if possible) and spending time with his wife Jan and daughters, Olivia and Lana.
