Joey Truitt

Joey Truitt

North Texas / OKLAHOMA / ARKANSAS

Joey has been working in the Dallas Contract Furniture market since 1981. He has held several positions and has grown and succeeded at each one.

Joey began his career in the Dallas Contract Furniture market in April of 1981 where he learned the operations side of the business as an installer, project manager and sales support manager at a new and growing Haworth dealer, Furniture Marketing Group.

In January of 1986, he accepted the position of Sales Manager with Commercial Office Systems where he grew their sales volume over 300% in his first year and enjoyed the growing pre-owned office furniture market.

In January of 1987, he became a salesperson with Mid Cities Office Systems, a remanufactured systems dealer. He helped accomplish a 400% increase in sales in just a one year period. He developed National Accounts, learned space planning and assisted in the development of tooling and creative design as it related to the refurbished furniture industry.

In September of 1989 he joined New Again by Contract Network, a new and remanufactured furniture leader in the Metroplex, and for the next 10 years would become the companies Top Performer for five of those ten years.

August of 1999 he was offered the position of Regional Sales Manager for Humanscale, an ergonomic leader in the industry, and managed over 85 dealers in Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas.

In May of 2002, he accepted a position with an independent rep firm, Premier Sales Associates, as a sales associate in a four-member organization. He started as their ergonomic specialist but quickly transitioned into representing all their lines and by the end of 2003 became a partner in the group.

In October of 2004, he assumed the role of the principle of the organization and changed the name to Group 4.

In May 2005 he decided it was time to expand and begin plans for a new showroom, he began this growth by adding an associate in Tulsa, Tom Seifried, who would cover Oklahoma and Arkansas.

In March of 2007, he secured Group 4’s new showroom, 2500 square feet in the Dallas Design District and hired an A&D Associate.

In February of 2009, a fourth associate was added who focused on Fort Worth.

January 2, 2013, Rick Bennett joined Group 4 and has been a tremendous asset to our organization! His region of coverage is assisting Joey in the North Texas region.

Rick is a veteran of the U. S. Navy and has been working in the Contract Furniture market since 1985.

In October 1973 Rick entered the US Navy, he served four years of active duty from 1973 to 1977 and two years reserve duty until 1979. He achieved the rank of Aerographers Mate second class petty officer and is a Vietnam Era Veteran.

After being honorably discharged from the Navy, Rick returned home to Houston, Texas where he lived and worked as an electrician until 1982. In February of 1980, Rick married Jan Cheatwood and shortly thereafter moved to Ardmore, Oklahoma to join his father-in-law in the oil business.

A major downturn impacted the oil business in the mid-’80s which forced Rick to look for employment elsewhere. He came to Dallas looking for a new start for him and his family. Rick began his career in the contract furniture industry with Furniture Marketing Group in March of 1985. A brief history follows of Rick’s experience in the contract furniture business.

1985 – 1987 Installation Coordinator and Project Manager with Furniture Marketing Group

1987 – 1996 Project Manager and Sales Representative with Knoll (Westinghouse, Reff & Shaw Walker)

1996 – 2000 Account Representative with Bauhaus Interiors Group

2000 – 2001 Market Manager with Inscape, Inc

2001 – 2012 Operations Manager and Senior Sales Professional with Bauhaus Interiors

2013 – Present Group 4 Sales Associate

Having worked with consumers, architects, designers, general contractors, manufacturer’s, Rick’s 25+ years of experience in sales and account management brings a wealth of knowledge to Group 4. His attention to detail, customer care, and dealer experience are of tremendous value and support to our manufacturers and dealer partners.

When not working at Group 4, you’ll find Rick riding his Harley, listening to blues music (live if possible) and spending time with his wife Jan and daughters, Olivia and Lana.

Sharon Egger

Sharon Egger

DALLAS / FT. WORTH

Sharon is a Registered Interior designer and came to Group 4 with 25+ years of contract furniture experience.

Sharon joins Group 4 with over 25 years of contract furniture experience. She is a native Dallacite who from a young age was interested in art, travel, and architecture. She graduated for the University of Oklahoma with a B.S. in Interior Architecture.

She has several areas of expertise including corporate, healthcare, education, and hospitality environments. Her career has included positions at Total Office of Texas, Wilson Office Interiors, and G.L. Seaman & Company.

She and her husband Randy, a commercial architect, are the parents to 2 teenagers. As a family, they share a passion for travel and all things cultural. In her spare time, Sharon enjoys reading, volunteering, and floral arranging.
